We travelled to Switzerland for our upcoming campaign and had a stop over in Zurich ~ a wonderland where charming laneways meet the flowing riverside. Come along with us to see what we got up to in a day of exploring and our favourite spots in the Swiss city!
Stop One: The Limmat River
The heart of Zurich came alive in the Spring sunshine ~ being by the water was the obvious hotspot for locals and tourists alike! Be sure to stroll across the Münsterbrücke bridge and pick up some fresh florals along the way.
Stop Two: Migros Museum
How could we visit Zurich and not stop off at the Migros museum. Prepare to walk around in awe of all the incredible and interactive installations. As you can imagine, our favourite installation was the vintage caravan decked out with old family photos, records and nicknacks from the decades before us.
Stop Three: Zurich’s Old Town
We absolutely adored wandering and admiring the Old Town streets, buildings painted in our favourite pastel hues with the Swiss flag flying proudly within the winding alleyways. A morning of exploring sure works up an appetite… we dined at Trattoria Sempre and highly recommend the rigatoni rose e pecorino, lets just say ~ it was to die for, and so was the interior design!
Stop Four: Lindt Home of Chocolate
Potentially our favourite pit stop during our time spent in Zurich… this is one for those with a sweet tooth! We felt as though we had been transported straight into a scene from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory! After being guided through the process of how chocolate comes to be what it is that we purchase from the store, we indulged in spoonfuls of chocolate fondue straight from a fountain and handfuls of carefully crafted Lindt chocolate cut offs. Sweet tip: purchase tickets online in advance as they do sell out!
Stop Five: Lake Zurich
It would be rude not to spend an afternoon basking in the sun at Lake Zurich... directly across the road from the Lindt Home of Chocolate, this is the perfect place to take a stroll or even go for a swim. Nothing quite says European summer like sipping an aperol spritz and gazing over the lake at cruising yachts and historic architecture {we recommend ‘Chez Fritz’}!
Stop Six: B2 Hotel Wine Library
If you prefer tucking yourself into a cosy nook with a book and red wine, then look no further than the Wine Library at B2 Hotel in the Enge district of Zurich. With floor to ceiling bookshelves, you’ll find yourself lost in the pages of your favourite book in what we say to be is the cosiest bar in town!
